OUR FAITH

The founder of the Orthodox Christian Faith is Jesus Christ and it is upon His Gospel that the Church is based. The birth date of the Church is the day of Pentecost, in the upper room in Jerusalem where the Apostles and Disciples of Jesus Christ were waiting for the descent of the Holy Spirit. A perfect summary of our faith is the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed which states 12 articles of faith compiled by the Fathers of the First and Second Ecumenical Councils.

THE CREED

I believe in one God, Father Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth and of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all ages.

Light from Light, True God from True God, begotten not made, of one essence with the Father, through whom all things were made.

Who for us and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate of thee Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became man

And was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried and rose on the third day according to the scriptures.

And ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of the father

And he will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end.

And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of Life, who proceeds from the Father, who will the Father and Son is worshiped and glorified and who spoke through the prophets.

In One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church,

I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins,

I look for the resurrection of the dead,

And the life of the ages to come. Amen.
